Guardianship & Conservatorship

Guardianship Conservatorship

If your loved one is unable to manage his/her own finances or make important life decisions because of youth, age, or illness, it may be necessary to appoint a Guardian and/or Conservator to help.

Upon the finding of incapacity, a court may appoint:

  • A guardian to help your loved one make health and lifestyle decisions, and/or
  • A conservator to help protect and manage your loved one’s finances.

This process to adjudicate incapacity and appoint a guardian/conservator can be difficult, but if you are concerned about your loved one, we can help you determine if an appointment is right and navigate the inevitable pitfalls as they arise.
